Nearly 90 racers, including 24 Li'l Spankies and U15/U17's, showed up for the inaugural "Stoked to Get Spanked" cross-country mountain bike race at the Mt. MacPherson trails in Revelstoke, BC. Racers, friends, family and supporters were treated to a beautiful, warm sunny day of racing on a beautiful, mostly single-track course designed and laid out by Wade Viznaugh, Ken Gibson and the folks at Skookum Cycle & Ski. The course received rave reviews from many racers, praised both for its technical degree of difficulty and overall quality of riding experience.
A big thanks goes out to all the enthusiastic and helpful volunteers who helped to make the event possible through their hard work and donation of time and effort on a Sunday afternoon. Food and Beverages donated by The Village Idiot, Tim Hortons, Coopers Foods, Mount Begbie Brewing Company and Incline Research and Control contributed to the festive, relaxing atmosphere during and after the race and helped to keep food and beverage costs to participants at a minimum.
With the first "Stoked to Get Spanked" in the bag, organizers and racers are looking forward to next year's event
